It's getting dark earlier. Next week, after the time change, the sun will set shortly after 5pm. Statistics show that over half of all cyclists killed are riding after dark without lights, even though only 3 percent of bike riding is done at night.
All Oxford cyclists are invited to bring their bikes to the Oxford Depot on Sunday evening to receive a FREE LED bike light while supplies last. Members of the Pathways Commission, the Oxford Cycling Club and local law enforcement will be on hand to help install the lights and give a few safety tips. Rear lights (and an annual membership in the Oxford Cycling Club) will be available for $10.
